As recently announced, the OpenID Foundation has joined the Linux Foundation’s CAMARA project as an Associate Member. CAMARA is an open-source project within Linux Foundation that defines, develops and tests the APIs enabling seamless access to Telco network capabilities.

Bjorn Hjelm, OIDF Liaison Officer to CAMARA and OIDF MODRNA WG Co-Chair, led an OIDF meeting with the CAMARA Identity & Consent Work Group on Wednesday, December 20, 2023. Nat Sakimura, OIDF Chairman and FAPI WG Co-Chair, provided a deep technical dive into the FAPI specification that included a roadmap for FAPI 2.0 becoming a final specification in 2024. Mike Leszcz, OIDF Program Manager, followed with an overview of FAPI ecosystem adoption and then provided an overview of the OIDF certification program highlighting the success of the program since launching in 2015.

The presentation was followed by an active Q&A session with the Identity & Consent Work Group.
